Redding Police Chief Roger Moore has announced his retirement at the age of 49. Moore has been Chief since September of 2017, when he replaced Robert Paoletti. Moore started with RPD as a patrol officer in 1995 and previously was a Shasta County Sheriff’s Deputy and a Watsonville Police Officer. Moore gave the city plenty of time to find a replacement. his last day as Chief will be October 4th. A national search will take place to find a new Chief for the department, which has more than 100 officers and an annual budget of $30 Million.
