The February snow storm that hit the area has been included a disaster declaration by the federal government. On Wednesday, President Trump declared that a major disaster exists throughout the state and ordered federal assistance to supplement state and local recovery efforts in the areas affected by severe winter storms, flooding, landslides, and mudslides from February 13 to February 15th. Federal funding is available to state and eligible local governments and certain private nonprofit organizations on a cost-sharing basis for emergency work and the repair or replacement of facilities damaged by the severe winter storms, flooding, landslides, and mudslides in various California counties including Colusa, Shasta, and Trinity. Federal funding is also available on a cost-sharing basis for hazard mitigation measures statewide.
