Man Killed In Plane Crash Identified

The Tehama County Soroner’s Office has released the name of the man killed in a plane crash this week. The deceased man was 72-year-old Lowell Glenn Daun of Chico, a passenger. The plane crash in Eastern Tehama County also resulted in two injuries. Wednesday morning around 11AM, the FAA Oakland Air Traffic Control Facility alerted the Tehama County Sheriff’s Office that the 4-seat plane had reported a total engine failure. Highway 172 at Highway 36 was closed while deputies responded. The aircraft ended up upside down in a field in the Childs Meadows area. The 1976 Cessna 182 Skylane was registered to Air Carriage Inc. in Chico. The company offers flight training, charter flights and other aviation services. The two injured occupants were airlifted to local hospitals with serious injuries. At this time, it’s unknown what caused the accident or the identities of the two people who were injured.
