Deputies Searching For Armed Suspect Arrest Man On Warrants

The bizarre behavior of a man in the Shingletown area may not be concerning enough to prompt a manhunt. What’s concerning is the fact that he was armed. Shasta County Sheriff’s Deputies were sent shortly after 3 O’clock Thursday afternoon to check out a man with a handgun acting erratically and walking in circles on the side of Highway 44 near Chateau Drive. Cal-Fire Officers also responded, along with a CHP helicopter. While on the way there, deputies passed some school buses, so they called the County Office of Education and asked that the buses be delayed until the armed man was contained. The man was not around by the time law enforcement got there. Witnesses pointed them to several different homeless camps in the area, but they still did not find the man. They did find and arrest 47-year-old Bruce Snow on three warrants, but despite their searching, the man they were looking for remains at large. He’s described as a white man wearing a black beanie and a backpack. Anyone with information is asked to call 245-6540.
