Authorities Conduct 8 Cannabis Raids In Siskiyou County

A Siskiyou County marijuana eradication team on Friday was accompanied by members of the Governor’s Office as well as California National Guard Soldiers. A series of 8 raids were done in the Big Springs Area southeast of Montague. The team seized a total of 4,658 plants in various stages of maturity growing in greenhouses and outdoors, along with 176 pounds of processed bud, four guns, 8 generators and 3 water pumps. Two people were found at the various sites and charges against them are pending. On June 4th the Siskiyou County Board of Supervisors extended their proclamation of a local state of emergency which designates marijuana as a major threat to public health and safety.
