CHP Officer Arrested For Meth Possession

An off-duty CHP Officer was arrested last month with Methamphetamine, according to a CHP Commander. Lieutenant Ryan Ham said in a statement that Officer Michael Kessinger, who worked out of the Trinity River Area CHP Office, was stopped on May 15th on Hilltop Drive in Redding on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs. He was arrested by a fellow CHP Officer and a search made while he was taken into custody reportedly turned up about a Gram of Methamphetamine. Charges are pending through the Shasta County District Attorney’s Office. Kessinger’s employment with the CHP has been terminated.
