Traffic on Interstate 5 may require some patience this week in the Lake Shasta area for the Pit River Bridge maintenance project. A traffic crossover is back in effect, with only one lane for each direction. When that was done earlier this month it caused bottlenecks that led to severe backups at times. The crossover is expected to continue through this Friday. The project is improving the bridge deck and doing structural upgrades underneath.
