Benefits Planned This Weekend For Family Of Man Killed In Motorcycle Crash

A couple of fundraising memorials will be held this weekend in honor of a young man who died last week in a South Redding motorcycle crash. 29-year-old Brandon Englund died last Thursday night on Southbound Highway 273 near Kenyon Drive. Witnesses say the Suzuki Englund was riding was traveling at well over 100 miles an hour when it rear-ended a Dodge Ram 2500 pickup. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Brandon’s friends and family have organized two events to raise funds to pay for a funeral and final expenses, and to celebrate his life. On Saturday from 3PM to 10PM a gathering at Anderson River Park will feature music, baked goods, a barbeque for $10 a plate, various games and more. More funds will be raised with a carwash at the Chevron Station on Hilltop Drive next to the Red Lion on Sunday from Noon to 4PM.
