Cal-Fire Plans 100 Acre Controlled Burn Near Cottonwood

A controlled burn is planned for this Friday east of Cottonwood. Cal-Fire and the California Department of Fish and Wildlife will conduct the burn to reduce the chance for a larger fire in the future, reduce noxious invasive weeds and provide live fire training. If weather allows, 100 acres will be torched. It’ll take place Friday south of Balls Ferry Road. Smoke will be visible throughout the North Valley.
