Three people were transported to Mercy Hospital in Redding after a crash in Southern Trinity County early Friday morning. At around 5:30AM, a 1999 Mercury driven by 36-year-old Corey Cole was on Highway 36 just east of Wild Mad Road when the car went off the highway, rolled downhill and came to rest against a tree. One of the occupants was trapped and had to be extricated by rescuer personnel. Cole and a 35-year-old woman suffered major injuries. Another passenger sustained minor injuries.
