A fire that started late Thursday night near Trinity Lake has burned 17 acres. The Captain Fire started around 11PM near the Captain’s Point Boat-in Campground. The Forest Service reports 3 engines and 2 hand crews are working to contain the fire, which is burning in steep terrain with heavy timber and snags. Air support has been called in. A post on social media says it was started by someone lighting off fireworks.
