The Redding Fire Department will honor the memory of one of their own at a remembrance ceremony this Friday. On July 26th of 2018, Fire Inspector Jeremy Stoke lost his life in the “Firenado” that erupted as the Carr Fire burned into West Redding. stoke, who was going door to door evacuating people, was one of eight people who died as a result of the fire. A firefighter for 17 years, Stoke was 37. The public is invited to attend the ceremony starting at 8:30AM Friday morning at Station 8 at the north end of Churn Creek Road, near College View Drive. Attendees are being asked to arrive by 8:15AM. There will also be a dedication of the future site of a fire department memorial.
