Cal-Fire crews have gained the upper hand on a wildland fire in Lassen County. The “3-2 Willow” Fire was sparked by lightning Wednesday afternoon about 9 miles southeast of Fall River Mills in the area of Pittville Road and Sheep Flat Road. Cal-Fire Officials tell us that the fire is holding at 107 acres, now 80% contained with dozer line around the entire perimeter. The McDonald Fire in Eastern Lassen County just east of the Community of Madeline was sparked by lightning early Thursday morning. It has burned 1070 acres of high desert grasses, brush and juniper, with 20% containment.
The Tucker Fire in Modoc County, the largest fire in California this year so far, is 95% contained after burning 14,150 acres.
