Man Who Threatened Wife Arrested After Early Morning Chase

A man accused of threatening to kill his fiancee has been captured after a chase early Friday morning. Just before Midnight a woman on Cascade Drive in Redding reported that 28-year-old David Gregory Winters of Red Bluff had called her and said he was going to come shoot her. He also allegedly sent her photos of a gun and threats through text messages. Officers were on the lookout for Winters and at 1AM an officer spotted him in his truck on Mountain View Drive. He attempted a traffic stop, but winters reportedly fled on southbound Interstate Five. He was chased all the way to Anderson, where he drove off the freeway and crashed into some construction materials. Police say winters then fled on foot, but was captured near McMurray and Ganyon Drive. A replica gun was apparently found in his truck.
