A suspect in a Modoc County homicide has been found dead in his jail cell. 61-year-old Robert Allen Vogee is believed to have committed suicide on Saturday. He was awaiting trial for the murder of 59-year-old Pamela Sue Johnson in 2017. Investigators say he beat and strangled her to death in her Alturas home and then carried her body to his own home and set a fire in an attempted murder-suicide.
