There were severe traffic backups after a crash Tuesday afternoon on Northbound Interstate Five. Cal-Trans had traffic reduced to one lane because of a project they were working on in the Twin View/Oasis Road area. At around 12:30PM an elderly woman in a Honda apparently overreacted as she slowed down too much too quickly and was rear-ended by a big rig that was unable to slow down in time. The impact pushed the car off the road into some trees, causing minor injuries to the woman. Traffic came to a standstill and backed up to south of Cypress Avenue. Although the roadway was not blocked for long, it took quite a while before traffic was flowing smoothly again.
