A dead man was found after gunshots were reported at a Palo Cedro Shopping Center Sunday afternoon. A woman had received an unusual text from her employer and she went to her workplace to investigate. After opening the front door of Smith Chiropractic off Deschutes Road she heard two gunshots. She turned and ran to a neighboring business to call 9-1-1. A perimeter was set up by Shasta County Sheriff’s Deputies and CHP Officers before they went inside and found a man with what appeared to be a self inflicted gunshot wound. He was declared dead at the scene.
