The CHP is looking for witnesses to a collision that killed a motorcyclist on Airport Road in Redding on Friday. It was 11:45AM when the 2017 Victory motorcycle crashed into a 2005 Ford F-250 just north of Charlanne Drive. CPR was attempted but the 86-year-old man was declared dead at the scene. The 55-year-old male driver of the pickup was taken to Mercy Medical Center with minor injuries. The motorcycle caught fire after the collision and flames spread to vegetation, but that was put out by a passerby with a fire extinguisher. Witnesses should contact Officers Steve Rauch or Verna Dreisbach at 225-0500.
