Man Sentenced To Over 7 Years In Prison For August Knife Attack

A man has been immediately sentenced after pleading guilty to charges in a knife attack. Matthew Roy Miles made the plea in a Shasta County courtroom Tuesday, admitting to assaulting the victim with a knife on August 22nd. At the time, Miles was out of custody awaiting sentencing for assaulting a different victim with a rock in July. He was on probation for possession of Methamphetamine for sale and has a prior strike as well. He was sentenced to 7 years 8 months in state prison, and he’ll be eligible for parole in about 6 years
