People in the Parkview Neighborhood have been complaining about drug activity, so on Thursday night two officers with Redding’s Neighborhood Police Unit decided to patrol the streets on foot and it paid off. While on Leland Avenue, one of the officers saw 32-year-old Martin Salcedo leaving one of the suspected dealer’s houses, and as soon as Salcedo saw the officer he broke into a run while digging in his pocket for something. The officer ran after him and caught him. A search reportedly revealed 3 ounces of heroin and $500. Salcedo is on Post Release Supervision from Stanislaus County. He’s had 3 prior arrests in Redding this year.
