A 12-year-old was arrested Saturday afternoon on felony arson charges, according to the Redding Fire Department. Crews were called to a fire that was burning behind a residence at 4223 Alta Mesa Drive at about 3:25PM. They were able to extinguish the fire which burned about 1/4 acre and caused $500 in damage to a fence that separates two properties. Investigators determined the fire was intentionally started by a juvenile who was arrested and booked into juvenile hall for felony arson.
