The D.A.’s Office reminds people that no matter how convincing a phone call, email, or letter seems, they should be vigilant in verifying its authenticity. Always look up the real number for a government agency to ensure what the caller is saying is true. Be suspicious of anyone who asks for your social security number, wants you to wire money or load a rechargeable money card.
