Woman Reportedly Shoots Ex Boyfriend, Arrested For Attempted Murder

A Corning woman has been arrested after allegedly trying to kill her ex boyfriend. Sunday evening, Corning Police say Dacoda Stewart left the Corning area in a vehicle with an ex-boyfriend. They drove to an area on Paskenta Road near Red Bank Creek, where she shot at him several times, hitting him at least twice, including a shot that hit his head. Then she drove back to Corning where witnesses called police and medical personnel. The victim was transported to Enloe Hospital and is currently in stable condition. Tehama County Sheriff’s Deputies and Corning Police Officers responded and detained Stewart. District attorney investigators were called to the scene to assist. Stewart reportedly admitted that she was trying to kill the victim. Stewart was arrested for attempted murder and booked into the Tehama County Jail. The investigation is continuing.
