3 Arrested After Running From Traffic Stop

Redding Police descended on a Bechelli Lane gas station Tuesday afternoon after an officer spotted a stolen vehicle. At 4:40PM, Officer Travis Williams was approaching the occupied car at the Shell Station at Bechelli and South Bonneyview when it suddenly became unoccupied. A male passenger fled on foot to the south, the female driver walked away to the west and a female passenger walked east across the overpass. 28-year-old Kenosha Wildflower Wilson, the alleged driver, and 34-year-old Melissa Pitts were quickly captured by other officers arriving for back up. The male passenger was tracked by Otto the K9 for about a half mile until 40-year-old Shane Dwayne Hursey was caught in a field near Sunnyhill Lane. He was a wanted parolee at large, reportedly in possession of methamphetamine. The car had been reported stolen last Thursday from a parking lot on Hilltop Drive.
