Man Suffers Gunshot Wound In Big Bend Area

A man refused to cooperate with deputies after being shot by someone in the Big Bend area Tuesday afternoon, according to the Shasta County Sheriff’s Office. At around 5 O’clock there were multiple reports that a younger Hispanic adult had shot 33-year-old Miguel Angel Espinoza at the Pit River Mobile Home Park on Big Bend Road. Both Espinoza and the alleged shooter had left when deputies arrived. About an hour later Espinoza was tracked down, but he refused to give a statement or identify the shooter. He had a gunshot wound in his leg that appeared to be non-life-threatening and he refused medical treatment. Anyone with information about the incident should call the sheriff’s office.
