Inmate Becomes Unresponsive At Shasta County Jail

Following three in custody deaths at Shasta County Jail in the last few weeks, officers had a scare Thursday morning with a woman who was about to be booked. At 8:25AM, Redding Police arrived at the jail with 30-year-old Haley Oilar, who had reportedly been fighting with officers in the area of Bechelli and Manzanita Lane. Oilar was sitting on a bench in the sally port of the jail when she became unresponsive. Jail medical staff began life-saving efforts and Oilar was transported to Shasta Regional Medical Center. She was treated and medically cleared from the hospital, and then released.
