A search for an elderly man in South Redding ended with a sad discovery on Saturday. 87-year-old James Carroll was reported missing by his family on Friday after they had not heard from him since Tuesday. His car was still parked at his house on Red Bank Road and he needed the assistance of a cane to walk, so the area around his home was searched. On Saturday, Redding Police used their drone and found Carroll in the A.C.I.D. Canal that runs behind the house. His body was recovered by the sheriff’s dive team.
