Shasta County residents can get a flu shot quick and easy Saturday at a drive-through flu shot clinic. The shots are free for anyone on Medi-Cal or Medi-Care. They’re $13 for everyone else. No private insurance can be accepted. A number of other vaccines are also available, including for Pneumonia. Hosted by Shasta County Health and Human Services Agency, the clinic will be at the county campus on Breslauer Way in South Redding Saturday from 10AM to 1PM. Officials are recommending the flu vaccine for everybody over the age of 6 months. Every year the flu sends an average of more than 200,000 people to the hospital in the U.S., and kills 36,000 people.
