Roseville Murder Suspect Identified

A man from Roseville who reportedly confessed to killing 4 people has been identified as 53 year old Shankar Nagappa Hangud. Hangud was arrested after he showed up at the Mount Shasta Police station with a body in his car, a man of East Indian descent. Mt. Shasta Police say Hangud walked into their lobby just after noon Monday and said he had killed people at his apartment in Roseville, more than 200 miles away. Roseville Police found three other bodies at the apartment, apparently killed over the last few days. They believe the victims may have been family members. The names of the victims have not been released. Police say it appears Hangud acted alone. He was transported to and booked into the Placer County Jail, charged with four counts of murder. He’ll be prosecuted in Placer County.
