Drivers Should Expect Delays As REU Install Power Lines Over I-5

Drivers on I-5 may want to be looking up this Sunday morning. Redding Electric Utility, REU, will be installing power lines over I-5 near the giant flag north of Cypress Avenue. CHP Redding will be conducting intermittent “rolling closures”, which means traffic will be slowed down to about 25 miles an hour in places between Twin View Boulevard and Knighton Road during from 7AM to 10AM. Exit 2A from eastbound and westbound Highway 44 will be closed between 7AM and 10AM. In addition, southbound and northbound onramps between Twin View Boulevard and Knighton Road may have temporary holds on traffic. Motorists can anticipate up to 5 minute delays.14 commercial customers and 32 residential customers in the work area will be without power most of the day.
