Update: Cal-Trans Delays Speed Reduction In RASL Construction Zone

Cal-Trans is reducing the speed limit in the construction zone of the RASL Project, but not starting until Sunday night. As of 12:01AM Monday, the speed limit of 45 miles an hour will take effect on northbound I-5 from the Sacramento River Bridge to the South Bonnyview Overcrossing. Traffic will be shifted into the future #1 and #2 lanes. Then, the new 45MPH speed limit will apply to southbound I-5, from the South Bonnyview Overcrossing to the Sacramento River Bridge.‬ The reduced limits are expected to be in place for about 3 weeks. In the near future, the focus will be to complete work on all lanes on the north end of the project. Once complete, all speed reductions north of the Sacramento River will be lifted, reducing the overall speed reduction zone on the project by 4 miles.
