Annual “Return Of The Salmon” Festival Is Saturday

Something fishy will take place this weekend. The 27th annual Return Of The Salmon Festival, sponsored by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, will be held on Saturday from 9AM to 3PM at the Coleman National Fish Hatchery complex at 24411 Coleman Fish Hatchery Road. This is a free family oriented event. Adults and kids alike will be able to view salmon, spawning operations, the salmon aquarium, wildlife, and natural resource information booths. Parking is free. You can also park at the Wal-Mart Supercenter inAanderson and ride the busses and shuttles to and from the hatchery. It is expected that as many as 20,000 salmon will return to Battle Creek this Fall. One of the biggest draws of this event is the opportunity to see adult salmon up close in the holding ponds and being spawned.
