LaMalfa Among Republicans Who Disrupted Impeachment Proceedings

First District Congressman Doug LaMalfa was among about 2 dozen Republicans who entered the “sensitive compartmented information facility” in the basement of the U.S. Capitol Wednesday. They demanded transparency on the proceedings related to the impeachment investigation of President Trump. According to a statement, LaMalfa said that when they entered the room, Adam Schiff and House Democrats immediately ended the hearing and left the room, taking the witness with them. Democrats deny that Republicans are being treated unfairly, noting they have had equal time to question witnesses and full access to the meetings. But they said the lawmakers, several of whom do not sit on one of the three committees, had compromised security at the closed-door deposition.
