Ranch Fire Continues To Grow In Remote Tehama County

A fire that started early Sunday afternoon near the previous Red Bank Fire in a remote area of Tehama County southwest of Red Bluff continues to expand as crews struggle with containment. The “Ranch Fire” has burned 3,768 acres of mostly heavy timber, still with just 15% containment. Crews are having trouble accessing the fire in the steep, rugged terrain. Evacuation warnings include Colyer Springs Road from Red Bank Road to the Mendocino National Forest Boundary. More than a thousand personnel are fighting the blaze on the ground and from the air. There’s been one injury reported.
