Crews Report Little Fire Growth On Ranch Fire, Containment Reaches 30%

Fire crews were able to make some progress on containment as they continue to battle a fire southwest of Red Bluff. The Ranch Fire started early Sunday afternoon near the previous Red Bank Fire in a remote area of Tehama County. The size has not increased since Wednesday. It’s burned 3,768 acres of mostly heavy timber. No structures have been damaged. Containment has doubled to 30%. Crews are still having trouble accessing the fire in the steep, rugged terrain. Evacuation warnings include Colyer Springs Road from Red Bank Road to the Mendocino National Forest Boundary. More than 1200 personnel are fighting the blaze on the ground and from the air. There have been three reported injuries.
