CHP: Deputy Lost Control Of Vehicle Before Fatal Crash

More details have been released regarding a deadly crash on Highway 299 Wednesday night. According to the CHP, a Shasta County Sheriff’s Deputy, 30-year-old Henry Taylor, was westbound near Lower Springs Road when his vehicle hit a deer. He lost control and hit a Toyota in the other lane.The Toyota caught fire and Taylor’s vehicle ended up in a ditch upside down. There were 3 people in the Toyota, including a 2-year-old, who suffered major injuries. The driver, 20-year-old Justine Jackson survived, but a male passenger, who suffered severe burns, died. The coroner’s office has not released the name of the victim.
