Ranch Fire Acreage Revised Down To Just Over 2500 Acres

Fire crews battling the Ranch Fire southwest of Red Bluff continue to struggle in the steep, rugged terrain and there have been three injuries. Some progress has been made on containment, now at 40%. The size of the fire is in question. After being assessed Thursday night the fire is now estimated at 2,534 acres, which is 1200 acres smaller than previously reported. No structures have been damaged. The Ranch Fire started early Sunday afternoon near the previous Red Bank Fire in a remote area of Tehama County. Evacuation warnings remain for Colyer Springs Road from Red Bank Road to the Mendocino National Forest boundary. More than 1100 personnel are fighting the blaze on the ground and from the air.
