Passenger Dies Two Weeks After Crash On Highway 299

Another person has died as a result of a fatal head-on collision two weeks ago on Highway 299 at Douglas City, according to the Trinity Journal. 84-year-old Eldon Ray Wolfe was at the wheel of a Subaru Legacy on October 29th with 73-year-old Charlene Wolf and 57-year-old Foster Burns as passengers. They were eastbound a little east of Steiner Flat Road when a westbound GMC Sierra Pickup came across the double yellow lines and slammed head on into the Subaru. Eldon was pronounced dead at the scene and Foster Burns died of his injuries Sunday at Mercy Hospital in Redding. Charlene had moderate injuries. The pickup driver, 50-year-old Andrew John Carey and his passenger Kimberly Jones had minor injuries. The CHP says alcohol was not a factor.
