Cooler Weather Helps Firefighters Reach 98% Containment On Ranch Fire

Fire crews continue to mop up and patrol for hot spots on the Ranch Fire 20 miles southwest of Red Bluff, but it’s practically over, now with 98% containment. The steep, rugged terrain was blamed for four confirmed injuries. 2,534 acres have burned but no structures were damaged. The Ranch Fire started on Sunday of last week near the previous Red Bank Fire in a remote area of Tehama County. 283 personnel remain on scene.
