Stolen Items Recovered During Traffic Stop

Two people were arrested Friday evening by Redding Police after stolen goods were reportedly found during a traffic stop. A car driven by 30-year-old Matthew Watson, with 25-year-old Charlie Patterson as a passenger, was stopped at Dairy Queen on Churn Creek Road for expired registration and an unreadable license plate. Officers determined that Watson was on drugs and the car was searched, reportedly turning up some Methamphetamine, paraphernalia, brass knuckles, and items believed to have been taken during a burglary of Puerta Vallarta Restaurant on Eureka Way November 8th, including tools, mail, checks and $3,000 cash. An employee of the restaurant was contacted and confirmed the goods that had been taken. Both Watson and Patterson were booked into jail.
