Ceremony Held To Mark Completion Of Camp Fire Debris Removal

A milestone was reached Tuesday in the aftermath of the Camp Fire, with a ceremony commemorating the completion of the structural debris removal program. This was the largest debris removal operation in state history, with more than 3.6 Million tons hauled away from the burned area. It took more than 305,000 truckloads to move everything out, traveling about 28.2 Million miles. Although only 13 new homes have been built in Paradise, the town has received more than 500 building permit applications. Those participating at Tuesday’s press conference included representatives from California Governor’s Office of Emergency Services, FEMA Region 9, Calrecycle, Butte County, the Town of Paradise, and Assemblyman James Gallagher.
