Cal-Fire Will Be Conducting Several Prescribed Burns

A few prescribed burns will be done in Shasta County by Cal-Fire over the next few days, and they’ll generate some smoke. On Friday up to 100 acres of noxious weeds and downed fuels will be torched around the West Central Landfill off of Clear Creek Road south of Igo. Also Friday, up to 10 acres of already gathered piles will be burned within the McArthur/Burney Falls State Park. On Saturday, up to 900 acres of noxious weeds and downed fuels will be torched south of Oak Run off of Oak Run Road. That operation will be followed by a few days of mop-up. All the burn operations will depend on approval by air quality management.
