Officers Find 150 Pounds Of Pot After Pulling Over Speeding Vehicle

A very large load of Marijuana was discovered during a traffic stop Friday night in the Interstate Five construction zone between Redding and Anderson. The vehicle was stopped going 84 miles an hour while southbound with 5 occupants from Trinity County. There was an open bag of marijuana in plain sight in the front seat area and the driver had a suspended license. Officers decided to impound the vehicle, so they searched it and found 5 large garbage bags containing more than 150 pounds of processed Marijuana. A case will be filed with the district attorney’s office.
