Children Of Pearl Harbor Survivors Planning Remembrance Ceremony

Following the attack on Pearl Harbor December 7th of 1941, President Roosevelt called it “A date that will live in infamy”, and the survivors of that terrible day swore to never forget. All of the members of the Shasta County Pearl Harbor Survivors Association have passed away, and so the torch has been passed to their children to keep reminding Americans about what their parents went through. This Saturday at 9:50AM the sons and daughters will gather on the steps of the Shasta County Courthouse at the Pearl Harbor Monument to hold the annual ceremony, which will include an invocation, a moment of silence, remarks about the attack and an open mic for people to share their personal reflections. Respectful members of the public are encouraged to attend.
