Unfounded Threat Of Violence Reported At North Cow Creek School

It could be a sign of uneasy times when a message scrawled in a bathroom stall can lead to half of a school’s students staying home. North Cow Creek School in Palo Cedro was on soft lockdown Thursday after the discovery of a message stating that a shooting would take place at the school. Classes were still in session, but students were kept inside classrooms and could not freely walk the campus alone and unattended. Parents were notified of the threat and half of the school’s 260 students did not show up Thursday. School officials and the sheriff’s office have reviewed surveillance to try and figure out who wrote the threat, though it’s not believed to be credible.
