Some residents of a reported drug house in Anderson got an early morning surprise Friday. Members of the Anderson Police Department’s Problem Oriented Policing Team served a search warrant on a residence in the 1800 block of Ferry Street, less than 1000 feet from Anderson Middle School. Two people, 34-year-old Joseph Leon McCoshum and 30-year-old Stephanie Ruth Nugent, were arrested for maintaining a place where narcotics were used, conspiracy, drug and paraphernalia possession and possession of stolen property. Also, a man wanted for a recent domestic violence case was found, as well as a woman who possessed drug paraphernalia and was on temporary release from jail. All four were arrested and booked into the Shasta County Jail. Code enforcement found multiple building code violations, which made the building uninhabitable. The residence was boarded up and red tagged, pending repairs by the property owner.
