Man With 19 Prior Arrests Taken Into Custody For East Redding Shooting

A man with a long criminal history has been arrested for a shooting in East Redding last week. At 1AM on November 25th a male and a female said they met up with someone in a car at the intersection of Heather Lane and Foxtail Court. They told police that they had intended to buy marijuana but changed their minds. They say that’s when the passenger in the car demanded their money and fired a shot at them, grazing the woman on her left arm. An investigation led police to 40-year-old Scott Albert McFadden. His priors include felony evading, being a felon with a gun and ammo, resisting arrest and drug possession. He’s had 19 arrests in Shasta County and is on Post Release Supervision. Thursday officers with the Neighborhood Police Unit surrounded a home on East Cypress Avenue and took McFadden into custody. He’s been booked on several charges.
