Sex Offender Faces 7 Years After Exposing Himself In 2016

A previously convicted sex offender has been found guilty by a Shasta County jury for flashing women in the parking lots of two Redding stores. Ronald Mason has a prior felony strike for a lewd or lascivious act with a child under 14. At around Noon on July 3rd of 2016, Mason exposed himself to a woman in the parking lot of Winco as she was putting her groceries in her car. She called 9-1-1 but mason was gone when officers got there. Two days later he did the same thing to a woman in the Wal-Mart parking lot. That woman also called 9-1-1, but she also got Mason’s license plate number and followed him until Redding Police were able to stop him. Convicted of two counts of indecent exposure with the prior strike, Mason could face more than 7 years in state prison when he’s sentenced in January.
