Two people suffered major injuries in a crash in Churn Creek Bottom Wednesday night. A little after 7 O’clock a Ford F-250 landed in a ditch off Churn Creek Road near Orchard Lane about a half mile south of Rancho Road. It had been hauling a 16 foot trailer, which overturned and spilled equipment across the roadway. The male driver from Redding and the female passenger from Placerville were both trapped in the burning truck and had to be extricated by Cal-Fire personnel before being transported to a hospital with major injuries. The CHP also arrested the driver for DUI.
