Woman Suffers Fatal Injuries After Crashing On Highway 36

A Red Bluff woman was killed in a crash in Eastern Tehama County Tuesday afternoon. At 3:25PM, the 35-year-old woman was driving a Pontiac Grand Prix on Highway 36 north of Seven Mile Creek at an unknown speed when she left the pavement and traveled on the gravel shoulder for a short distance. When she tried to get the car back on the road surface she lost control and the car shot across to the other side, went down an embankment and collided with several large rocks before rolling over onto it’s roof. The CHP says the driver was not wearing a seatbelt and she was ejected as the car overturned. She landed face-down in a small creek. Someone was apparently there who immediately removed her from the water and started life-saving efforts, but she could not be revived. Her name is not yet available.
